Bay of Plenty community comes together to support Ukraine

Residents from Metlifecare Bay of Plenty villages performing at Humanity Show

Residents from Metlifecare Bay of Plenty villages and the wider community came together recently for the Humanity Show in support of Ukraine.

Written and directed by Bayswater’s Social and Regional Events Coordinator, Samantha Martin, the show featured performances by Bayswater residents and artists from Tauranga Musical Theatre and 16th Ave Theatre companies.

The show, which included spoken and musical performances, took the audience on a journey through aspects of humanity, sadness, joy, tears and laughter.

Samantha says the performances were exceptional.

“We rehearsed for six weeks, and the Bayswater residents’ performances were so brilliant they easily matched professional theatre talent.”

Attracting an audience of 190, the Humanity Show raised $3449 for refugees in Ukraine.
