Metlifecare is proud to announce its sponsorship of one of New Zealand’s most celebrated military bands, The Band of the Royal Regiment of New Zealand Artillery, for a series of concerts at our Villages across the Greater Auckland region.

Renowned for its strong military traditions and rich New Zealand history dating back to 1864, the Band will headline six Metlifecare open days over the next 10 months, bringing their timeless brass music to residents and visitors of all ages.

The partnership between Metlifecare and the Artillery Band is a “natural fit” says Head of Marketing, Kate Drury. “A classic military band offers the perfect blend of tradition, high-quality entertainment, and community connection that our audiences will love. We’re thrilled to have them on-board for the open days.”

Founded 160 years ago, The Band of the Royal Regiment of New Zealand Artillery holds the distinction of being New Zealand’s oldest band with an unbroken history and is made up of 30 talented volunteer brass musicians.

Bob Davis, Band Secretary & Events Manager, says the shows are very much geared to a senior audience. “Everyone loves a good military band, but in particular the older generation enjoy their rousing toe-tapping military-style music.

“We welcome our new relationship with Metlifecare and look forward to bringing our brand of military, light classical, showbiz, nostalgic and popular music to their residents and guests, which always goes down well in retirement villages”.
